Surgery for Dogs and Cats in St. Petersburg, FL

High-Quality Surgical Care. Honest Pricing. Real Partnership.

When your pet needs surgery, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, especially when you’re handed a high-dollar estimate with little explanation. We do things differently.

At St. Petersburg Animal Hospital & Urgent Care, we offer safe, high-quality surgical care for dogs and cats at a price that makes sense—and a process that keeps you in control. We focus on the procedures pets need most, delivered in a fully equipped surgical suite by a team that treats you like a partner, not a transaction.

We’ll talk through your options, walk you through the cost, and help you choose a plan that fits your pet’s needs and your family’s budget. Whether you want to move forward today or come back after further diagnostics, we’ll meet you where you are and make sure you understand what comes next.

Common Surgeries We Perform

We focus on the kinds of procedures that many general practices no longer offer—or that get referred out to ERs or specialists at a significantly higher cost. These include:

  • Spay and neuter surgeries
  • Mass removals and biopsies
  • Abdominal and soft tissue surgeries (e.g., bladder stone removal, gastropexy, foreign body removal)
  • Lump or bump removals
  • Wound and laceration repair
  • Select orthopedic surgeries (based on case and availability)

If you’re not sure whether we can help, give us a call. We’ll talk through your situation and let you know what’s possible here—and when a referral truly is the right call.

  • We work with you to create a plan that fits. We’ll talk through the best medical approach, but we’re also flexible. If you need time, want to break things into steps, or need to come back for diagnostics later, we can do that.
  • We explain everything in plain language. You won’t be rushed. You won’t be confused. We take time to answer your questions and make sure you feel confident moving forward.
  • We take safety seriously. During every surgery, your pet is monitored in real time for heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, temperature, and more. We don’t cut corners, and we don’t take your trust lightly.

We’ve shaped our approach around what we’d want if we were in your shoes—clear options, fair pricing, and the time to talk things through. Because we’re not bound by corporate policies or quotas, we’re able to stay flexible and focused on what matters most: doing what’s right for your pet.

  • Feline Neuter: $200

Required Pre-Anesthetic Bloodwork

  • Young (Adult) Panel: $160

What to Expect

Surgery day can feel like a lot—so we’ve built a process that’s thorough, efficient, and clear from start to finish.

  • Before surgery: We’ll review your pet’s medical history, schedule pre-anesthetic bloodwork, and give you a clear estimate.
  • Day of surgery: Your pet will be monitored continuously with digital equipment and cared for by an experienced surgical and recovery team.
  • After surgery: We’ll send you home with written instructions, pain medications if needed, and a direct way to reach us if anything seems off during recovery.

We’ll also help you plan any follow-up visits, suture removals, or additional care your pet might need.

We can often accommodate emergency procedures like:

  • Pyometras
  • Gastrointestinal foreign bodies
  • Splenectomies
  • GDV (bloat) surgeries

Please call ahead at (727) 323-1311 to confirm staffing and availability. While we are not a 24/7 emergency clinic, we are equipped for many urgent surgeries during regular hours.

Fair. Honest. Capable.
